2-1-1-4-Pulmonary hamartoma nodule

-Study characterization: CT mediastinal window with contrast study.
-Lesion localization: A pulmonary nodule(less than 3 cm in diameter) is seen in the superior segment of the right upper lobe.
-Lesion characterization: This pulmonary soft tissue nodule measures about --x-- cm with evidence of sharply defined margin which is containing fatty and calcified elements.
-Differential Diagnosis: Here, the presence of calcification in a nodule could exclude malignant lesion(this is not the right in pulmonary masses, consider this only in nodules and not masses). In addition, presence of fat suggest hamartoma rather than tuberculoma.
-In clinical practice, it is very difficult to differentiate between hamartoma and tuberculoma.
-Diagnosis: A case of pulmonary hamartoma.
