2-10-Pulmonary metastases

Study characterization:CT chest with contrast injection at the level of crossing of left inominate vein to the opposite site.
Lesion localization:A pulmonary mass(more than 3 cm in diameter) is seen in the apical segment of the left upper lobe.
Lesion Characterization:A soft tissue mass with irregular border with no evidence of chest wall infiltration.
Differential diagnosis:
-When we observe a mass in the lung, we must first localize if it is a cystic in nature or solid.
-If it is cystic, we know that the only cystic mass could be seen in the thorax is hydatid cyst.
-If it is solid, this would has a differential between bronchogenic carcinoma or metastases.Search for history of primary if present, remembering that the most common chest mass seen in adults is bronchogenic carcinoma if no history of a primary lesion anywhere in the body
