15-Pulmonary lesions

It can be divided into two main categories:
1-Focal pulmonary lesions.
2-Diffuse pulmonary lesions.
The former can be subdivided into



-Nodules (A pulmonary lesion with well defined edge and diameter less than 3 cm).




-Masses.
Pulmonary lesion with a well defined and diameter more than 3 cm.



-Patches.
Patch is a pulmonary lesion with ill defined borders and air bronchogram.



-Cavities.
Cavity  in the lung tissue with different internal content.

While the latter (diffuse form) could be divided into



-Reticular pattern.

-Ground glass pattern.
It is an opacity which do not obscure the pulmonary vessels inside it.



-Nodular pattern (many small nodules less than 1 cm&uncountable).



-Cystic pattern (multiple cysts & uncountable).
