Pulmonary arterial hypertension

1-How to diagnose pulmonary arterial hypertension:

-In adults patients, a distal main pulmonary artery diameter of at least 29 mm at its widest point has a positive predictive value of over 95%.

-A distal main pulmonary artery width exceeding the diameter of the ascending aorta has a specificity of over 90% and a positive predictive value of over 95%.

-Chronic pulmonary arterial hypertension causes in the late stage pulmonary embolism.

-How you can differentiate between pulmonary arterial hypertension with thrombosis and pulmonary embolism:

By clinical history.
By size of the pulmonary main artery.
Look to the liver and spleen which are a part of the CT chest study, you may find the cause as liver cirrhosis and splenomegally.
